About Murtaza

I am a former Chief Finance Manager with more than 35 years of experience across finance, business operations, systems and general management.

Although much of my career was grounded in finance, my work increasingly involved the wider business: how information flows, how decisions are made, where processes break down, how systems support management and how organisations can improve performance.

A Practical Business Perspective

My experience has involved working with management teams, operational businesses and business systems where good decisions depend on more than accurate numbers.

Over the years, I have developed a particular interest in:

• business and performance reviews;
• business analysis and strategic decisions;
• information systems and process improvement; and
• the practical use of technology, including AI, to improve how businesses operate.

I value clear thinking, sound judgement and practical solutions that can work in the real world.

What I Am Doing Now

Although I have retired from full-time corporate life, I remain professionally engaged and continue to follow business, management and technology closely.

I am available for focused remote assignments with businesses in Kenya, the UK and other international markets.

My current work centres on three areas:

Murtaza Insights is my independent publishing home.

I use it to examine business decisions, management issues, systems, technology and changing business practices from a practitioner’s perspective.

The aim is to provide clear, practical and independent thinking rather than corporate or promotional commentary.
